Cottage Garden

  • It doesn't get much more cottage garden than this. Upright sprays of white and blue delphiniums and vibrant pink cosmos soar above a purple haze of Rozanne species geraniums. Shasta daisies and Mexican sage continue the dance, out into the sunlight.

A Bird's Delight

The Mesa

This small garden brims with color year-round, with scores of annuals, perennials and shrubs jostling for attention.

Fluffy sprays of white campanula, Shasta daisies and heliotrope offset the bright oranges and yellows of hybrid daylilies, coreopsis and Gerbera daylilies. The whites also unite the more demure lavender pincushion flowers, catmint and seathrift. Meanwhile, bright pink cosmos, blue delphiniums, purple Mexican sage and cheery sunflowers simply elbow their way into the display.

While declining seedpods might offer sufficient sustenance to birds, the client is not content to leave anything to chance. Along with interspersing bird houses of a more whimsical style within the plantings, she also sets an ongoing feast via functional feeders, including a double-decker contrivance embraced by an exuberant Pink Flower Carpet rose.
